CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- One man's trash may be another man's treasure. However, a Cape Coral man said after 7 weeks with an old couch sitting in his front yard it has now become an eye sore and he really just wants it gone.

UPDATE: The couch was picked up Monday evening.

Jason Ramos reached out to 4 In Your Corner after he said Waste Pro won't pick up an couch he tried to get rid of in early May.

"They keep telling me the same line. The supervisor has been notified and they will be out to get it today," said Ramos.

The only problem is the Northwest Cape Coral neighbor said today has turned into more than a month of relentless phone calls and an eye sore in his front yard.

"If I have boats parked on the side lot or in my front driveway for 3 to 5 days, code enforcement is on my butt, yet they won't do anything about this," said Ramos.

Ramos said he called Cape Coral Code Enforcement after his frustration with Waste Pro but code enforcement said they couldn't do anything, instead directing him back to Waste Pro.

"Now nobody is answering so I'm guessing they are used to seeing my number calling," said Ramos.

4 In Your Corner tried calling Waste Pro to find out more. A friendly woman answered the phone and said a supervisor would be in contact. A quick search on the Waste Pro website shows for a bulk item, like a couch, to place it on the curb and call the office to request a special collection.

"I tell the ladies that I'm like I'm tired of hearing the same story and still the couch is sitting here," said Ramos.

More than anything Ramos said he wants something to be done soon, at least for his neighbor's sake.

"Well actually one neighbor called me up and said thanks for the new walking bench, he said you know I'll take a break in your yard," said Ramos.
