CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Hundreds of locals packed Four Freedoms Park to get a good view of Cape Coral's Holiday Boat Parade along the Bimini Basin.

It’s been a Cape Coral tradition for nearly 50 years but it’s Max’s first time.

“I’m very glad to be here. It’s a great town. I encourage more people to come,” he said.

Max said he looked forward to the food most, and had a great view while he waited for the line to go down.

“But we’re looking at the boats, so it’s a great time to pass away,” said Max.

Cape Coral Mayor Joe Coviello welcomed all who came out.

“I want to wish everybody a happy holiday, and a healthy, prosperous new year,” he said.

The highlight of the night for Cape Coral kids was the big guy in the red suit. Kids with eyes wide open watched Santa Claus make his grand entrance.

Ahbriana Bryant came with her friends and family for the first time for a special performance.

“I was up there dancing on the stage so that was my favorite part,” she said.

Rachel Wood came just for Ahbriana’s dance, but stayed for other festivities.

“We didn’t think we’d stay this long, but it’s getting more fun as the night goes on,” said Wood.

They stayed long enough for the main attraction - the boats decorated with snowmen, palm trees and reindeer.
