CAPE CORAL, Fla.-- A student's artwork will be featured on dozens of runners this weekend. Siara Zapata of Island Coast High School, designed the shirt artwork. She beat out almost 700 other designs submitted.
Siara was presented with a runners bag, her artwork framed, a certificate of appreciation, a first place medal, the Cape Cops 5K medal, the first tee shirt with her design, and a $50 gift card.
The 5k is happening Saturday, May 18th. It starts at 7:30 A.M.
Proceeds from this event will be used to assist families of fallen and injured officers. The race begins and ends at the Cape Coral Yacht Club, 5819 Driftwood Parkway.
