CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A woman is in critical condition after hitting a tree around 11 p.m. Friday night.
Cape Coral Police say Katelyhn Ower was traveling northbound on Del Prado Boulevard North. Police say she continued driving straight instead of following the curve of the road and hit a tree. Police say the vehicle came to a stop on the outside shoulder of Del Prado Boulevard North facing south.
Ower suffered life-threatening injuries and was trauma alerted to a local hospital, the passenger was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in causing the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
