Cape Coral officer delivers injured dog to animal hospital

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police have released video of a Cape Coral officer comforting an injured dog as she drove it to an animal hospital recently.

According to Cape Coral Police, Officer Tobler responded to a call that a dog that was possibly hit by a vehicle. The person had moved the small dog off the roadway so it didn't get hit again.

Officer Tobler arrived on scene and could tell the dog was injured and bleeding. She picked the chihuahua up, placed it on her lap, and talked to it the whole drive to the animal hospital.

Officer Tobler took the chihuahua to Viscaya Prado Veterinary Hospital for treatment.

Lee County Domestic Animal Services later took custody of the chihuahua and brought it an adoption event this past weekend where it was adopted and now in a good home.
