Wolfhounds Legacy in Cape Coral rescues dogs from high-risk shelters and trains them to be paired with a U.S. veteran based on their needs.

Once the dogs are rescued, they're placed in foster homes and introduced to pets, kids and outdoor environments to learn how to live in a family home life before being paired with a veteran.

After the dogs are vetted, they're enrolled in an 8 month training process, where a veteran will bond with the dog and they'll learn the skills necessary to be a service dog.

The nonprofit helps provide dogs through donations and grants.
