CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- People lined Cape Coral Parkway Monday to watch the city's inaugural Memorial Day Parade.

It started near the Holiday Inn and made its way toward the Military Museum.

One spectator tells Fox 4 that this is a great way to honor the past and the future. “I love the festivities, bringing everyone together for all the right reasons to celebrate those coming before us and those coming after us.”

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno and Deputy Chance lead the parade.
