CAPE CORAL, Fla. — There will be no more retail pet sales in Cape Coral.

City council members voted in favor of a ban on those sales.

The goal was to discourage the use of puppy or kitten mills.

Only one business in the Cape sells dogs and says their pups are not from any mills.

This was the third time a version of this ordinance had been proposed.

Several other cities in Florida have also banned these sales.
