UPDATE: Fire crews have contained 75% of the Jennings brush fire and no homes are in danger at this time.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. --- A brush fire in Charlotte County is threatening several homes Monday.
The fire broke out in the area of Jennings Street in Gulf Cove around 4:30 p.m.
According to Charlotte County officials, 20 acres are burning and crews have worked to contain 95% of the fire burning.
The following roads are closed until further notice:
- Gisinger
- Pilfrim
- Kearney
- Elvington
- Chippewa
- Jennings
There are no reported injuries at this time.
Drivers are asked to avoid traveling in the area.
