BONITA SPRINGS, Fla.-- Investigators are asking for help identifying the student responsible for writing a threat at Bonita Springs Middle School.

Investigators say on Tuesday, a student reported seeing the words "date of shooting" and "December 13" inside a bathroom stall. Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff's Office's Youth Services launched an investigation.

Detectives determined the threat was not credible to Bonita Springs Middle School, or other schools. There was no correlation to any incidents for the December 13th date.

Crime Stoppers says the writings are an implied threat, which is still a crime. Investigators want students at the school to come forward with any information.

Anyone with information on the identities of the person or persons responsible for the threat is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).

All callers will remain anyonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward. You can also make tips online or through the P3Tips mobile app.
