PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Police launched an investigation in Punta Gorda Monday morning after a body was found in the Peace River.
Investigators were called to Laishley Park Monday morning to investigate.
Punta Gorda Police confirmed with Fox 4 that a body was found in the water by a boater just before 7 a.m.
Detectives are in the process of recovering the body.
