The people of Southwest Florida have stepped up to help out Hurricane Michael survivors. The Big 10 Tavern in Cape Coral is collecting donations to send to the Panhandle.
This act of kindness all started with a social media post that went viral. Now, the restaurant is gearing up to load two trucks full of the public’s donations.
Jason Bhimji, the owner of Big 10 Tavern, is happy with the amount of response from the community.
“We have the best customers ever, I mean I get emotional just thinking about it,” Bhimji said.
The trucks leave Sunday, so people can donate until then. Donators can take their supplies to the restaurant, which is located on Southwest 16th Place.
