VENICE, Fla. – Florida Highway patrol is investigating a deadly crash that killed a man from North Port.
This happened in Venice around 9:10 Sunday night on U.S. 41/Tamiami Trail near Rockley Boulevard. That's near the Plantation Golf and Country Club.
Troopers say a 54-year-old man was riding a bicycle going southbound in the northbound lanes.
They say he was in the outside lane when a car, also in the same lane, hit him.
The driver stopped and called 911.
Troopers say charges are pending.
The victim’s name has not been released.
