CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A beloved Cape Coral K9 will be retiring after six years on the job.
K9 OZ has worked with his handler, officer Christopher Gugliotta, since July 2012.
"OZ" was born 2011 in Germany the department bought him in 2012, and he then started K9 school.
In 2017, "OZ" injured his left hind leg and was put on light duty.
His injury did not get better so the department decided to retire "OZ" so he could have a nice life and relax at home.
During his time with the department, "OZ" has helped make more than 200 drug arrests.
