Beat the Heat in Southwest Florida this Memorial Day weekend

The heat is turning all the way up in Southwest Florida as we head into the holiday weekend. Temperatures are going to be in the low to mid-90s. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 600 people in the United States die from extreme heat every year.

If you plan on being outside in the sun, make sure you stay hydrated. You want to make sure you drink water before you head out the door and also while you're out enjoying your weekend.

The CDC also says you can stay cool by wearing sunscreen, wearing light clothing, and trying to schedule your outdoor activities during cool hours like the morning or in the evening.
