CAPE CORAL, Fla.-- Downtown Cape Coral bars can now apply with the city to sell alcohol later on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as on holidays.
A new ordinance went into effect April 1st, 2018, which allows closing time to be pushed to 3 A.M.
The businesses must first apply for a permit. To be approved, certain requirements must be met, including having a working security camera system during all open hours and workers have to have certain training requirements.
The ordinance only covers those in the South Cape downtown district.
Bars can apply for extended hours permit, in Cape Coral.
