Authorities investigate Florida SouthWestern State College employee accused of sexual abuse

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Fox4 is working on a story about a Florida SouthWestern State College employee who is accused of unlawfully engaging in sexual activity with a child twelve years of age or older but less than eighteen years of age.

Garnett Garey Salmon, 38 has been an employee of FSW since 2006 until his arrest. He was a registrar and interim Director of Academic Advising, Career and Transfer Services.

A deputy with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office met with the victim’s mother, who reported the past past-occurred incident.

Salmon was accused of sexually abusing his victim from November 2015 until the victim left to go live with her mom in 2017.

Salmon was arrested for the offense of custodial sexual battery. His next court appearance is April 22, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.
