FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police made an arrest at Fort Myers High School Thursday morning for a shooting threat towards the school.

According to Fort Myers Police, a School Resource Officer at the school was made aware of the threat during a basketball game Wednesday evening at the school. In the threatening text messages, the suspect claimed he would shoot a targeted individual and shoot up the school.

Detectives and Road Patrol officers were unable to locate the suspect overnight, but extra officers at the school Thursday morning were able to arrest the suspect without incident.

Additional patrols are planned to remain at the school for the remainder of Thursday.
