Arraignment for woman accused of misusing funds for Lights for Layla pushed back

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Lights for Layla founder Randi Romanoff, arrested last week accused of misusing funds from the non-profit created in honor of Layla, had an arraignment this morning.

An investigation revealed by Cape Police showed that none of the funds were used appropriately.

Romanoff was charged with Grand Theft of $20,000 or more, Scheme to Defraud $20,000 or more and, four counts of Violation of the Solicitation of Contributions Act.

A Judge pushed Romanoff’s arraignment back to September 14 at 8:30 am.

Romanoff does not currently have an attorney and will be screened for a public defender.
