LEE COUNTY, FLa. — The man who ran against the late Lee County Commission Chairman Larry Kiker Is vying for the vacant seat.
Dick Anderson is seeking the Governor's appointment to the District 3 seat.
Anderson ran against Kiker in 2016 and lost to the incumbent by a little more than 1%.
It is up to Governor Ron DeSantis to appoint Kiker's successor.
Kiker died last month at the age of 67.
