LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Good news for Southwest Florida's economy: More jobs will be coming to our area.
Alta Resources, a global customer service outsourcing company, announced its plan to build a new location in Fort Myers.
The new $21 million three-story office building will be at "Skyplex" on Paul J. Doherty Parkway, which is next to Southwest Florida International Airport.
A Lee County commissioner says this is a great thing for Southwest Florida
"Not only does this mean more jobs…about 65 new full-time jobs coming to Lee County; on top of that they’re going to build a $21 million office building in Lee County. So that’s going to add to our tax base and really help build out that office park at the airport,” said commissioner Brian Hamman.
The first phase of the new building will begin construction in spring. It's expected to be completed in November 2020.
The building will be able to accommodate more than one thousand employees.
Alta already has two office buildings on Gateway Boulevard.
