GOLDEN GATE, Fla. -- Two people are facing charges for a robbery that deputies say shows a concerning trend in Collier County.
Deputies say 18-year-old Edison Valdes and another suspect went to a house in Golden Gate on Sunday. Deputies say they pretended to be interested in buying something that the person who lives at the house was selling online.
But when they got there, deputies say they robbed the person at gunpoint.
We're not naming the other suspect, because he's a minor.
Collier County deputies say if you're buying something online, always meet during daylight hours, in a public place. Try to meet at places with surveillance cameras, and bring a friend with you.
Also, trust your instincts; if something does not feel right, don't go.
