Posted

An Alabama woman was transported to the Naples Jail Center after she reportedly stole $300 worth of items from a department store, the Collier County Sheriff's Office said in a report.

Deputies responded to a Macy's located at  9th St North in Naples after reports of an attempted robbery.

An Asset Protection detective told deputies that 30-year-old Jessica Brown Duke of Alabama was caught putting various items in an empty Victoria Secret Shopping bag.

Duke is also accused of passing all points of sale when leaving the store, failing to pay for the concealed merchandise.

When a team member of the Asset Protection program stopped Duke, they found a stolen swimsuit and sweater totaling over $300 in her shopping bag.

She was arrested and charged with Grand Theft.

Upon being booked, it became clear that Dukes had an active warrant from Hillsborough County for Petit-Theft.

She remains at the Naples Jail Center on a $5,000 bond.
