Charlotte County Sheriff's are stationed outside a home in Punta Gorda as part of an active investigation that started Monday morning.
Investigators say they believe this is going to be a lengthy investigation on 6200 Rumford Road and should expect that road to be closed for the remainder of the night and possibly until tomorrow morning.
Neighbors say Roy Lee Poore lives in that home and believe he is responsible for the police presence.
Poore has been arrested four times in Charlotte County since 2011, including one charge for assault with intent to commit a felony.
