Active death investigation in Englewood after 1 dead 2 injured

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation following a disturbance in Englewood on Sunday.

Crime scene tape is surrounds the 2700 Block of Eleventh Avenue where deputies arrived to the scene at 10:00 a.m. Sunday on a report of disturbance.

Upon arrival a victim was found dead inside of the residence, CCSO said.

It was determined that two other individuals were injured and later transported to a medical facility with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries, CCSO said. 

Deputies have remained on scene overnight as they search for a possible suspect or suspects. Investigators are seeking information on the identity of a fourth subject, described as a taller black male, who fled the scene in a maroon Mercury Grand Marquis, which appears to be a late 1990’s to early 2000 model with chrome hubcaps.

The occupant of the vehicle may be armed and should not be approached if observed.
