CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Detectives are looking for help tracking down a suspect connected to the theft of two vehicles and several vehicle burglaries last month in Charlotte County.

A 15-year-old male has already been arrested in the case, and information is sought on his accomplice.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the crimes happened in the early morning hours of October 26th.

Detectives say a pickup truck was stolen from a home on Mauritania Road in the Deep Creek community, followed by the theft of a car on Tarpon Way in Punta Gorda.

Both vehicles were located the next day, abandoned in the Ranchettes area of Punta Gorda.

Detectives were able to match sandals found in one of the vehicles to the 15-year-old, as they were labeled with his release date from a previous arrest.  The teen has several bookings on his record in Charlotte County, including grand theft two years ago as a 13-year-old.

He is now charged with Grand Theft of Motor Vehicle (2 Counts), Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance (6 Counts), Grand Theft, and Petit Theft.

Anyone with information on this incident can contact the Charlotte County Sheriff’sOffice, or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. Tips provided to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and also be eligible for a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest.
