A 71-year-old woman was flown to a nearby hospital after she was bitten by a 10 feet alligator on Sunday, San Carlos Park Fire District said.
It happened just before 6 p.m. at the 1800 block of Cypress haven Dr. in the Shadow Wood Preserve.
Crews say when they arrived, they found the woman with injuries to her extremities from an alligator bite.
She was transported as a trauma alert by Lee Flight.
The gator was removed from the scene by Florida Fish and Wildlife.
Officials have not released any additional information at this time.
