CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A 61-year-old man was seriously injured after a car hit the back of his motorcycle.
It happened around 12:40 p.m. Saturday on Kings Highway.
Florida Highway Patrol says a vehicle was traveling in the northbound right lane of Kings Highway when the motorcycle stopped and merged into the northbound right lane.
Officials say the vehicle failed to slow down and swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting the motorcycle but clipped the back of it.
The driver of the vehicle was charged with careless driving.
