The 5th annual Shop with a Sheriff event sponsored by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and the Jewish Federation took place this evening in Naples.
Fox 4 spoke to students about their awesome kickstart to the holiday season.
Three busses charted students from Golden Gate area schools to today’s event at the Super Target on Tarpon Bay Blvd.
“Today was one of the best days of my life because I got to buy things for my family and friends,” said one of the students.
Every child was given one hundred dollars each. Instead of buying gifts for themselves many students thought of family members.
“To not be selfish and get things for the people that matter in your life,” said another student.
Sheriffs say that this event has only gotten better year after year.
“Its a lot of fun getting the opportunity to help kids shop for things...just see them excited its neat,” said a sheriff.
Jeffrey Feld, President and CEO of The Naples Jewish Federation says events like this one are essential to the growth of our community.
“To help children have a holiday season that they might otherwise not, and we knew there was a need to help improve the image of law enforcement,” said Feld.
Sheriff Rambosk says giving back is what its all about.
“More than anything support the community and have the community support. All these young people deserve so much and often get so little,” said Rambosk
CCSO and The Jewish Federation we’re able to make the holidays just a little brighter over eighty deserving children.
