FORT MYERS, Fla.-- Ahead of the Edison Grand Parade and 5K run, the Fort Myers Police department will close roads around the parade and run route.

The roads will close starting in the early morning hours on Saturday, February 16, 2019. The Parade/5K route to include Cortez, Blvd., US 41 (Cleveland Avenue) and Main St. will close at 5:00PM.

  • The parade exit route from downtown will be along Jackson Street to Edison Avenue which will be closed as well.
  • Southbound traffic on US 41 will be diverted off the Caloosahatchee Bridge and detoured onto McGregor Boulevard.
  • Lee Memorial Hospital entrance after road closures will be at Cleveland Avenue and Canal Streets.
  • Fireworks will be deployed from Centennial Park near the conclusion of the parade at approximately 8:30 p.m.

The police department stresses traffic will be very restricted along the parade route and drivers will need to choose alternate routes.
