FORT MYERS, Fla. – Runners planning to participate in a marathon in Fort Myers next month are learning some disappointing news.
Organizers of the Fort Myers Marathon announced this week that they have had to cancel the race, scheduled to take place November 4th.
They say construction downtown caused too many safety concerns for runners.
Organizers say they tried to find another venue but couldn't.
All registered runners will get a refund check in the mail.
