NORTH PORT, Fla. -- Police say a 2-year-old boy has passed away after he was found in a family's backyard pool.
The call came in around 11:30 a.m. Monday to a home in the 2500 block of Beaver Terrace.
The boy was taken to the North Port Emergency Room via ambulance, but was pronounced dead.
The Criminal Investigations Division is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
