2 women injured in fight at North Port school bus stop

NORTH PORT, Fla. -- Two women were taken to the hospital after a violent fight in front of children at a school bus stop Tuesday morning.

North Port Police say it happened at the corner of Aero Avenue and Eager Street around 7:45 a.m.

Police say two adult women got into an altercation during which a coffee mug was broken.  Pieces of the mug were then used to slash the other person.

This all happened in front of dozens of children waiting for the school bus.

One woman was trauma alerted to a local hospital.  The other woman was taken to the hospital via ambulance.

Counseling has been made available to any students at Glenallen Elementary that witnessed the fight.
