**UPDATE (9:30 A.M.)** -- Florida Highway Patrol says I-75 was fully reopened in Sarasota County as of 9:20 a.m.
All lanes both directions were closed for about five hours Friday morning due to low visibility in the area.

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- Both directions of Interstate 75 are completely closed south of Sarasota due to low visibility in the area from smoke.
The closure is in effect between Clark Road in Sarasota at mile marker #205 and Laurel Road in Nokomis at mile marker #195.
Florida Highway Patrol says there is heavy smoke in the area.
Drivers can use Honore Avenue or U.S. 41 as alternate routes around the closed section.
