Is TSA PreCheck program worth it?

Posted

RSW, Fla. -- If you're looking to avoid those long lines through airport security this holiday season, you're in luck.

All week, starting Monday night, the TSA and Port Authority will allow travelers at Southwest Florida International Airport, to enroll in it's TSA PreCheck program.

For the mobile enrollment in the TSA PreCheck program it allows travelers to go through expedited security screenings with their luggage.

"You don't have to take your computer out of your bag every time. That's a real benefit for me because it's kind of a nuisance," Patricia Sigg, traveler, said.

Some additional benefits are you can use the speed lanes at more than 150 airports.

You can leave your shoes, light outerwear, and belts on. Your laptop can stay in its case and liquids and gels can remain inside of your carry on luggage.

If you are interested in the program, you can enroll between 8am to 12pm and between 1pm and 5pm. It costs $85 and will last you for five years.
