High-end cars targeted in Naples neighborhood

Posted

NAPLES, Fla., - “Two cars at once - Typically it’s a crime ring,” said Todd Rosenthal, with Naples Motorsports.

Police say a 2017 Bentley Bentayga and a 2016 Bentley Flying Spur were stolen right out of someone’s driveway last week in the Port Royal neighborhood. The cars are worth more than $200,000 each.

Residents who live in the Port Royal neighborhood tell Four In Your Corner they’ve received an email to be on alert in light of the recent thefts.

Last month, thieves stole a Porsche and Rolls Royce Ghost from the same neighborhood.

Naples Police say the recent sting of exotic car thefts in Naples may be the work of professionals.

The owner of the Bentleys told police he may have left the keys inside the car. And even though he had a surveillance camera on his home, it wasn’t working at the time.

Rosenthal says it’s surprising that this trend is happening in Naples.

“The joke is we’re in Naples, Florida. You could drive down and leave your keys in the ignition on fifth avenue and not have to worry. To see it happen is mind-blowing.”

Naples Police reminds people to lock their car doors and keep their keys with them. If you have any information on where the cars may be, you are urged to call Naples Police.
