SOUTHWEST FLORIDA ---- What if 5,000 or 10,000 people living in Southwest Florida come together linking hands on the beach from coast to coast? That's what one local organization want residents to do in efforts to fight for clean water.
The organization, "Hands Along The Water," will be holding a peaceful protest on Sunday, August 12th at Fort Myers Beach and other various Southwest Florida beaches starting at 10 a.m.
Organizers and local participants will gather on the beach for approximately 15 minutes to showcase solidarity against water releases from Lake Okeechobee and the impact that it's had on local beaches, wildlife, and homes.
At the end organizers plan to have participants lift their arms to the sky, hand in hand, to show love to wildlife, water, beaches and mother nature.
