LEE COUNTY, Fla. - We're learning more about Curtis Wright's whereabouts around the time of the murder of Teresa Sievers.
Investigators say Wright rented a Hyundai Elantra in Missouri days before Sievers was murdered. The car was returned two days after her death.
According to investigators, the car traveled 2,700 miles. The driving distance between Wright's house and Sievers house is about 2,300 miles.
Investigators were also able to get information from the car's GPS system. In it, a route was created from Wright's home in Missouri to Sievers' home in Bonita Springs. Hours after Sievers' death, the GPS documented the car's trip back to Wright's house in Missouri, the GPS was also connected to Jimmy Rodger's e-mail address.
Detectives say Wright and Rodgers were caught on the morning of Dr. Sievers murder on surveillance video at the Wal-Mart on Six Mile Cypress in Fort Myers buying suspicious materials including:
- Flushable wet wipes
- 30 gallon trash bags
- A lock pick set
- Black shoes
- Water shoes
- Black towels
- A black backpack
- And some other clothing items.
The pair used a $100 bill to pay for the items before being captured on camera taking off in the rental car detectives say Wright got in Missouri.
