The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission working to find out who gopher tortoise was found spray painted red.
These are photos posted by FWC. They say it was found in Lake County, in the middle of county road 455.
The tortoise also had concrete on its shell and limbs, and it's now in rehab. Putting man-made materials on a tortoise's shell is not only harmful, but illegal.
