It seems the "girl" is set to stay in Girl Scouts.
The head of the organization says the group has decided to keep with their traditions, in light of the recent decision by the boy scouts to accept girls.
Girl Scout leaders said they were blindsided by the move, but added they have had amazing outcomes focusing on young girls over their one-hundred-year existence.
The news comes as the girl scouts join several major youth organizations seeing declines in membership in recent years, due to competition and busy family schedules.
In May, the boy scouts announced they were renaming their organization to the “Scouts BSA”, and would begin accepting girls into their organization.
