FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A memorial service and reception will be held Friday to remember philanthropist Berne Davis.
Davis passed away Monday morning at the age of 102.
Over the years, Davis gave her time and money to enhance local culture. She and her late husband Sidney Davis donated more than $1 million to create the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in the river district.
Friday's memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, located at 2466 First Street in Fort Myers, at 3 PM. It will be followed by a reception at the Sidney & Berne Davis Arts Center (2301 First Street), starting around 4 PM.
Both are open to the public.
