Chances are you've seen plenty of Naples resident Francis Rooney in campaign commercials over the past several weeks, that advertising seems to have paid off. Francis Rooney wins the Republican Primary to represent District 19 in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Rooney swamped the other contenders getting 53% of the vote. Chauncy Goss, whose dad, Porter, used to hold this seat got 30%, and Dan Bongino a little further back. Rooney will face Democrat Robert Neeld in November.

Four In Your Corner was at the Coconut Pointe Hyatt at the Francis Rooney watch party, where a lot of energy was present as voting results started pouring in.

Rooney was quick addressing his supporters, thanking his family and expressing his support for Senator Marco Rubio and Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump. Rooney emphasized he will dedicate himself to making sure the people in Southwest Florida can raise a family and build a career in a safe, prosperous and free community.

Four In Your Corner spoke to Rooney right after his speech, telling us Zika and water quality are of utmost importance.

"Those are the top two priorities. I;m hoping and praying that Zika's solved before I get there because there are a lot of innocent mothers and children put at great risk if we can't get that money a lot sooner before I get up there" Rooney said.
