FORT MYERS, Fla. -- You could say that fate intervened when a Fort Myers limo driver was pumping gas this weekend.
The man had just moved his limo because the pump was giving him issues, when he heard sirens and saw a police chase approaching.
The person in the SUV crashed into the pump the limo driver has just left. "When I first seen it, I was like 'which way I'm gonna go,' because he was coming right for me," said witness Bob Calvert.
He says the SUV stalled for a moment, and the driver was able to flee the scene, where he crashed into a tree and took off on foot. No word on if he was caught.
