FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Leaders are trying to find a way to end violence in Fort Myers.
The city mayor, chief of police, and city manager recently sat down with TV host Lee Pitts for a segment that will air on Fox 4.
Chief Derrick Diggs has been on the job for less than a month and says he's already on the ground talking with people and trying to change the culture inside the police department.
Mayor Randy Henderson spoke of recent national attention from crimes and how the city plans to stand up for itself. "What's gratifying, for example, just recently where our cameras in downtown helped us identify a perp. In this case it was a thief. And the measures that we have been taking are going to help demonstrate to the world that we are managing through this. That we are on it."
Part 1 airs on Fox 4 this Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. on Lee Pitts Live. Part 2 will air the following Sunday.
