BOCA RATON, Fla. -- A former New York Jets player is accused of punching a 15-year-old boy in the face.
Police say 51-year-old Scott Mersereau had gone to the teen's home on saturday and accused the boy of egging his Boca Raton home the day before.
Witnesses told police that Mersereau grabbed the boy and punched him in the face twice.
He faces child cruelty charges.
Mersereau was a Defensive Tackle for the Jets for 7 seasons beginning in 1987.
