NAPLES, Fla. -

The Florida political party system is showing signs of being fractured.

Political science professor Dr.Laura Weir, from FSW, sharing her insights with the Naples Press club luncheon.

One key indicator she says is the Republican party is at its smallest percentage of membership in Florida history.

Democrats aren't doing much better.

She adds, "The largest party, if you can all it that, the largest group of registered voters are the independents. And that reflects the national trend."
