FORT MYERS, FLA.- A family heartbroken, after their beloved pet iguana was shot and killed right in their neighborhood.
The Blackwells spent weeks looking for their pet iguana, Tinkerbell. They put up hundreds of flyers in their neighborhood, even offered a reward, only to be completely crushed when they found her shot to death, just a few streets over.
Keith Blackwell doesn't understand who would kill such a gentle creature;
"I don't understand why anyone would shoot anything if it's not a food source or a threat to your well being and she's not a threat."
He buried Tinkerbell in their backyard and promised to never forget her.
"We put a little candle out so it's always light out here for her. That's a hibiscus plant one of their favorite snacks."
He told Fox 4, he hopes whoever killed her, doesn't get away with it;
"I think they should be held accountable."
