ESTERO, Fla. (AP) - A special music event in Estero is paying tribute to an unusual group of religious settlers who came to area more than a century ago.
The Naples Daily News (http://bit.ly/1OxYAFt ) reports that Bluegrass performances at the Koreshan Art Hall on Saturday and Sunday provide a living link to people known as the Koreshans who settled in Estero in 1884.
The Koreshan Unity wanted to create a utopian community in the woods of southwest Florida.
Among those who performed bluegrass tunes with banjos and guitars were descendants of the Koreshan settlers.
