Kevin Anderson has been elected Mayor of Fort Myers.

A resident of Southwest Florida for over 40 years, the councilman received 17,258 over Jacquelyn McMiller's 5,090 votes.

Anderson will replace Mayor Randy Henderson, who is resigning.

Kevin Anderson:

In 2018 Kevin Anderson was elected to the Fort Myers City Council.

"I would push for a top to bottom, bottom to top audit of the city," Anderson says.

"A hard look at everything that’s been going on in the city. To make sure we are in line."

Anderson, a veteran of the United States Army, served 24 years with the Fort Myers Police Department and is currently the councilman representing Ward 4.

Jacquelyn McMiller:
Jacquelyn McMiller has lived in the city of Fort Myers for 50 years.

She graduated with degrees in Legal Studies and Court Reporting.

She also has a Bachelor’s Degree from Hodges University in Business Management with an emphasis on Risk Management.

McMiller is the aunt of Fort Myers native and NFL star Sammy Watkins.

She’s spent over 25 years working to serve the public through social services and holds various positions within the community, including work with Sammy's charitable foundation and the Lee County NAACP.

In FOX 4's "Coffee with Candidates," she says she wants voters to know she is very family-oriented, and she has a deep-rooted commitment to Fort Myers.

She was also asked what would be the first thing she would do if elected.

"We need law enforcement that is going to make us feel safe. So that’s the city's priority," McMiller says.

"At least, that should be the city's priority. And, that’s what I’m going to work on."
