FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The State Fire Marshal is now investigating a complex fire in South Fort Myers that forced many people to evacuate Tuesday afternoon.
The fire reportedly sparked around noon inside someone's kitchen at the Eagle Ridge Condos, on Aeries Way Drive.
No one was home when the fire broke out, but two dogs -- a white poodle named "Toby", and a Chihuahu named "Ava" -- were inside and crews got them out safely.
Family members gave a big thanks to firefighter Josh Colon and Lt. Matt Seneca for the rescues.
Thankfully, no firefighters were hurt as they battled the flames. But they're still trying to figure out what caused the fire.
